Wichita State 75, San Francisco 67

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Kyle Wilson matched his career high with 24
points, including a key 3-pointer, and Wichita State won its fourth
straight with a 75-67 victory over San Francisco on Tuesday night.

Sean Ogirri added 20 points for the Shockers (7-1), whose only
loss is to nationally-ranked Illinois. PJ Cousinard 16.

Alan Wiggins scored 19 points to lead the Dons (2-5), who were
unable to follow up on last Saturday's 90-72 victory over Texas
Tech. Armondo Surratt added 16 and Jerome Gumbs had 12.

The Shockers made their first trip to San Francisco since a
47-46 loss on Dec, 16, 1958. The two schools have played nine
times, but often in tournaments. Last year in Kansas, the Shockers
limited San Francisco to 15 first-half points en route to a 65-55

The Dons are in a stretch in which they play nine of their first
11 games at home, while the Shockers opened a three-game road trip
and don't play at home again for another two weeks.

Wichita State opened the second half on a 12-4 run and took its
first lead when Cousinard hit a driving layup with 17:10 remaining
to play.

The teams traded the lead several times before Ogirri hit a
3-pointer to give the Shockers a 65-63 lead with 2:41 left. Wichita
State fought off several Dons' rallies and made their free throws
down the stretch. Wilson hit a 3-pointer with 43 seconds left to
put Wichita State up by five.

The Dons were up, 29-19 after an 11-3 run midway through the
first half during which Wiggins brought the crowd to their feet
with a forceful slam duck.

Wichita State rallied and drew within 33-30 by halftime.
