NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Drew Williamson hit a buzzer-beating
3-pointer from 25 feet on Wednesday night to lead Old Dominion to a
54-53 win over George Mason.
The game was tied at 49 with 5:26 left in the second half,
before Williamson and George Mason's Jai Lewis each tried to lift
their teams to victory.Williamson's game-winner went through with less than one second
left on the clock.Alex Loughton led the Monarchs (6-1, 1-0 Colonial Athletic
Association) with 14 points and nine rebounds. Isaiah Hunter had 11
for Old Dominion, and Williamson added 10.The Patriots (4-3, 1-1) were led by Lewis with 15 points, and
Tony Skinn had 13.Loughton brought Old Dominion to within three after a pair of
free throws with 28 seconds remaining in the half. The Patriots led
30-27 at the half.George Mason held the Monarchs to 32.2 shooting, while the
Patriots shot 49 percent.
