SANTA BARBARA (AP) -- Cecil Brown, scoring a career-high 28 points, rallied UC Santa Barbara from a nine-point deficit for a 65-56 victory over Pepperdine Wednesday.

Brown made half of the Gauchos' shots, going 11-for-17. That included three-of-six from the three-point line.

UCSB (3-3) shot 42.3 percent overall.

Tashaan Forehan-Kelly finished with 21 points for the Waves (1-5), making four-of-five from the three-point arc.

His three-pointer and four free throws gave Pepperdine a 21-12 lead with 8:11 left in the first half.

However, UCSB's Brown scored 26 points the rest of the way, which included a long three-pointer at the halftime buzzer to tie the game at 27-all.

Glenn Turner scored nine of his career-high 13 points in the second half to help UCSB pull away for the victory.

Jarrad Henry led Pepperdine's 44-34 rebound advantage by grabbing nine missed shots but he fouled out with just under six minutes to go.
