SANTA BARBARA (AP) -- Cecil Brown, scoring a career-high 28
points, rallied UC Santa Barbara from a nine-point deficit for a
65-56 victory over Pepperdine Wednesday.
Brown made half of the Gauchos' shots, going 11-for-17. That
included three-of-six from the three-point line.
UCSB (3-3) shot 42.3 percent overall.
Tashaan Forehan-Kelly finished with 21 points for the Waves
(1-5), making four-of-five from the three-point arc.
His three-pointer and four free throws gave Pepperdine a 21-12
lead with 8:11 left in the first half.
However, UCSB's Brown scored 26 points the rest of the way,
which included a long three-pointer at the halftime buzzer to tie
the game at 27-all.
Glenn Turner scored nine of his career-high 13 points in the
second half to help UCSB pull away for the victory.
Jarrad Henry led Pepperdine's 44-34 rebound advantage by
grabbing nine missed shots but he fouled out with just under six
minutes to go.
