CINCINNATI (AP) -- Justin Doellman had 21 points and eight rebounds, and Xavier rebounded from its only defeat this season for a 79-51 victory over Florida A&M on Wednesday night.

Brian Thornton and Stanley Burrell each scored 13 for the Musketeers (4-1). Doellman finished one point shy of his career high as the Musketeers had few problems against the Rattlers.

Xavier had a season-high 25 assists and shot 51 percent from the floor in its first game since a 65-62 loss at Illinois on Saturday.

Jonathan Kelly led the Rattlers (2-4) with 12 points.

Xavier shot 54 percent in the first half to take a 51-31 lead and ended any chance of a Florida A&M comeback by scoring the first 12 points after halftime.

Doellman, who came in average nine points a game, scored 16 in the first half on 7-for-11 shooting.

Xavier finished with six blocks, three by Thornton, and held the Rattlers to 36 percent shooting. The Musketeers also had 13 steals and forced 23 turnovers.

Junior forward Brian Greene, the Rattlers' leading scorer who has been slowed by an ankle injury, had two points at the foul line and went 0-for-7 from the floor.
