American 74, Towson 70

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Garrison Carr scored a career-high 25 points
and made six 3-pointers to lead American to a 74-70 win over
late-charging Towson Saturday afternoon.

American (2-6) won its second straight game by making a
school-record 15 3-pointers on 31 attempts. Andre Ingram scored all
15 of his points on 3-pointers and Brayden Billbe added 10 points.

Lawrence Hamm scored 20 points for Towson (3-4), surpassing
1,000 for his career. Marc Pratt scored 18 and Dennard Abraham
added 12 for the Tigers, who closed a 17-point second-half deficit
to two points twice.

The Eagles built on a 31-30 haltime lead by hitting six
3-pointers during a 27-11 burst that gave them a 58-41 lead.

Towson had a lead early in the first half, but missed 11 of its
final 12 shots of the first half.

American has now won 22 of the 26 all-time meetings between the
two schools.
