MURRAY, Ky. (AP) -- Five Murray State players scored in double
figures and the Racers used a suffocating defense to beat Morehead
State 92-40 Saturday night in an Ohio Valley Conference matchup.
Pearson Griffith scored 11 points, had 11 rebounds and blocked
six shot for the Racers (4-2, 2-0 OVC).
Murray State Coach Mick Cronin began pulling his starters midway
though the first half as bench players Rob Kennedy and Tyler
Holloway led Murray State in scoring with 14 points each. Kennedy
also had a game-high 12 rebounds as the Racers controlled the glass
Quinton Pryor led Morehead State (1-5, 0-2) with 12 points as
the Eagles shot just 29 percent from the field and 15 percent from
behind the 3-point line.
With the teams tied 8-8 with 13:42 to go in the first half,
Murray State went on an 18-2 run.
Murray State set a team-record with 14 blocked shots.
