Boston U. 58, Maine 55

ORONO, Maine (AP) -- Kevin Gardner and Corey Hassan scored 16
points apiece as Boston University overcame a six-point halftime
deficit to beat Maine 58-55 on Saturday.

BU (3-5, 2-0 America East) held Maine (2-6, 0-2) to just 24
points after halftime and used a 10-0 run midway through the half
to take the lead for good.

Ernest Turner led Maine with 15 points, but he scored only two
in the second half. Philippe Tchkane Bofia added 10 points and 7
rebounds. Jon Sheets chipped in nine points and four assists.

Maine started the game with an 11-2 run, but the Terriers
answered right back with a 12-1 clip. Maine led 31-25 at the half.

Maine pushed its lead to 48-39, the largest of the game, but BU
ran off 10 unanswered points, getting four each from Hassan and
Gardner, to take the lead. In the final minute, BU was 6-of-6 from
the free throw line to preserve the win.
