STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Jamall Edmondson and Jamont Gordon each scored 17 points to help Mississippi State rally from a 15-point second-half deficit and beat Troy in overtime 88-77 on Saturday night.

Dietric Slater, who missed the last three games with an injury, had 13 points. Charles Rhodes scored 12 points and Walter Sharpe tacked on 10 in his first game after regaining his academic eligibility.

Facing a 15-point deficit with 4:57 remaining in regulation, Mississippi State went on a furious 18-3 run to push the game into overtime. Edmondson, who missed his first seven 3-point attempts, hit four shots from down town in the final minutes of regulation.

With 13 seconds left, Slater pulled down an offensive rebound and laid it back up, tying the game at 75. Troy had a chance to win in regulation, but Bobby Dixon's jumper at the buzzer bounced off the rim.

After making 17-of-38 3-point attempts in regulation, the Trojans went cold, missing all seven shots from beyond the arc in the extra period. The Bulldogs made 4-of-5 field goals in overtime and hit 4-of-7 free throw attempts in the final 1:14 of the extra period to get its second straight overtime victory.

The Trojans (3-3) had won 11 straight overtime games. It's the first time Troy has lost in overtime since 1981.

Mississippi State (6-2) has won two of their three overtime contests this season. The Bulldogs, who won their third straight game, outrebounded the Trojans 58-34.
