    DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) -- Brendan Winters scored 16 points to lead Davidson to an 80-56 victory over Catholic on Saturday.

    The Wildcats' (5-2) held the Cardinals (6-2) to only 4-of-25 field goal attempts in the first half, at one point building a 30-11 lead.

    Davidson widened the margin in the second half, with Ian Johnson hitting a jumper to make it 52-32 with 11:14 to go. Davidson's lead remained at 20 or more points for the rest of the game.

    Johnson was the Wildcats' second-leading scorer with 14 points, and made both of his 3-point attempts. Davidson shot 10-of-23 from 3-point range.

    Shane Sowden led the Cardinals with 19 points, and was Catholic's only double-digit scorer.
