BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Chris Alexander scored 15 points to lead Southern University to a 63-47 victory over Louisiana Tech Saturday, giving Jaguars head coach Rob Spivery his first win.

Ralph Hishaw added 14 points for Southern (1-6). Jerrid Campbell had 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Paul Millsap led Louisiana Tech (4-4) with 15 points and 11 rebounds before fouling out after 27 minutes of play. He was the only player for Tech to hit double digits.

Spivery replaced Michael Grant, who was fired in April. Spivery is Southern's fourth coach in the last six seasons. The team has had five straight losing seasons.
