Lamar 91, Arkansas State 81

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) -- Alan Daniels' 25 points and 13 rebounds
sparked Lamar to a 91-81 victory Wednesday night over Arkansas
State, extending the Cardinals' win streak to four games.

Daniels' defensive play was also a factor in the win, as he got
credit for a game-high five steals in a 40-minute performance.

Lamar (5-4) trailed 41-38 at the half, but came out after
intermission to take the lead.

Matthew Barrow added 16 points for the Cardinals, while Brandon
Chappell and Lawrence Nwevo came off the bench to score more points
-- 14 by Chappell and 13 by Nwevo.

Isaac Wells led the Indians' effort with 22 points and 7
rebounds. Marcus Ardison scored 17 points, Brandon Ballard added 14
and Kitus Witherspoon had 12.

Both teams shot well from the field -- Lamar hit 53 percent of
its shots while the Indians made 55 percent. But ASU (4-5) went
only 14-of-28 from the free-throw line while the Cardinals hit 18
of their 28 foul shots, or 64 percent. The Cardinals also
outrebounded the Indians, 40-27.
