PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) -- Quincy Douby scored 22 points as Rutgers rolled past visiting Maine 91-56 Thursday night.

Douby, who entered the contest as the leading scorer among Big East players, tallied 17 in the first half as the Scarlet Knights got up early and coasted.

Trailing 14-11 after a basket by the Black Bears' Chris Bruff with 14:52 left in the half, Rutgers (8-2) went on a 12-0 run to gain control. Douby drilled a pair of 3-pointers in that stretch, then added three more as the Knights rolled into halftime up 52-32.

Maine (3-7) got a quality effort from Phil Tchekane Bofia, who posted a career-high 15 points. Jon Sheets had 11 at intermission, but didn't play in the second half due to an ankle injury. The Bears' top scorer, Ernest Turner, was held without a point in the first half, but finished with 11. He entered the contest averaging 17.6 points per game.

Douby was supported by Ollie Bailey and Marquis Webb, each with 11 points. Jaron Griffin added a spark off the bench, with 10 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a steal in 20 minutes. Anthony Farmer had eight assists for Rutgers.
