TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Chuck Davis scored 22 points and Alonzo
Gee added 19 to lead Alabama to a 85-58 rout of Georgia State on
Davis, who shot 9-of-13 from the field, helped the Crimson Tide
(5-3) take its largest lead at 83-54 on a layup and free throw with
1:59 remaining in the game.
Alabama, which led 49-37 at halftime, opened the second half
with a 10-2 run.
Boyd Copeland led the Panthers (2-5) with 14 points and Malcolm
Manier added 10.
Even though Georgia State shot 8-of-9 first half 3-pointers, it
wasn't enough to offset the Tide's 11-of-13 free throw shooting.
Alabama held Georgia State to 35 percent shooting, while still
hitting 47 percent from the field. The Tide also had a rebound
advantage of 43-27.
