Agudio, who scored 22 points three times in his career, was coming off a season-low five points against Stony Brook. The sophomore guard is the second leading scorer on the team at 13.7 points per game.

Hofstra improved its recent record at Madison Square Garden to 7-2, including the Holiday Festival titles in 1998 and 1999.
