DETROIT (AP) -- Brandon Cotton scored 18 points to lead Detroit
to a 68-65 win over Chicago State on Monday night.
Chicago State trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half.
The last time came after two free throws by Cotton, which put the
Titans (6-5) ahead 27-15 with 5:59 remaining. But the Cougars (1-8)
took the lead with a 17-4 run that included all nine of Michael
Henderson's first-half points.
Detroit led 34-33 at halftime and increased its lead to as many
as nine points before Chicago State mounted another comeback. Jon
Goode's two free throws with 3:53 left put Detroit ahead 59-58, and
the Titans retained the lead the rest of the way.
Goode also made three of four shots from the line in the final
Torvoris Baker added a season-high 17 points for Detroit and
grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
Royce Parran led the Cougars with 19 points, and Henderson
finished with 13.
