Southern Miss 84, Tennessee State 74

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) -- Jarekus Singleton had a season-high 21
points to lead Southern Mississippi past Tennessee State 84-74 on
Monday night.

Bruce Price had 27 points to lead Tennessee State (2-3), which
led by as many as 14 before Southern Miss (4-6) rallied behind
Jason Forte, who had 14 of his career-high 18 points in the second

Southern Miss has won consecutive games for the first time in
the past year. The Golden Eagles, who beat William Carey last week,
are in the midst of their best run since winning six straight in
December 2004.

Tennessee State led 34-20 late in the first half before Southern
Miss rallied to make it a 5-point game at halftime. The Golden

Courtney Beasley also had a career-high 18 points for Southern
Miss. Mildon Ambres had 14 rebounds for the Golden Eagles.
