Claxton hit three 3-pointers in the game's first four minutes
and added a lay-up to spot the Lions (6-3) with an 11-4 advantage.
He finished 7-of-12 from the floor for the Lions, who shot
11-of-22 from 3-point range.
New Hampshire (2-9) pulled to within 25-19 on Jermaine
Anderson's jumper from the free-throw line with 5:10 left in the
first half, but Penn State responded with a 13-2 run that spanned
Luber scored five points during that stretch, including one of
his four 3-pointers.
The Lions used tough defense to force five turnovers and hold
the Wildcats to just one field goal during the run that spanned
New Hampshire had 22 turnovers in the game. Blagoj Janev scored
15 points to lead the Wildcats, who have lost four straight and six
of their last seven. Anderson scored 13 and Mike Christensen added
10 points and 6 rebounds.
Jamelle Cornley scored 13 points for Penn State, and Travis
Parker grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
