SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) -- Cecil Brown made a pair of
3-pointers in the final 50 seconds including the game-winner at the
buzzer to rally UC Santa Barbara to a 67-66 victory over Sonoma
The Gauchos (4-4) were led by Cameron Goettsche, who scored 18
of his 21 points in the second half. He also had seven rebounds and
two blocked shots.
Sonoma State (4-4) got 17 points from Vince Inglima, including
eight in the final five minutes. His layup put the Seawolves up
66-64 with 7.8 seconds left.
UC Santa Barbara set up for a final play under its own basket
with 1.8 seconds to go. Alex Harris inbounded the ball to Brown in
the right corner for his decisive 3-pointer.
Brown finished with 18 points. Chris Devine added 14, including
six in the final four minutes to help UC Santa Barbara rally from a
J.T. Tipton had 13 points and seven rebounds for the Seawolves,
who outshot the Gauchos 52.2 to 46 percent.
