ATLANTA (AP) -- Jeremis Smith scored 18 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as Georgia Tech took a 92-67 victory over Jacksonville on Thursday night.

The Yellow Jackets (5-3) had five players in double figures. Anthony Morrow scored 16 points, D'Andre Bell had 12 and Ra'Sean Dickey and Theodis Tarver each added 11.

Freshman point guard Paco Diaw started his first game in place of Zam Fredrick, who scored seven points and handed out six assists.

Smith hit eight of 12 shots from the field, including a thunderous dunk that made it 82-60 with 5:36 remaining.

Georgia Tech, which has won two straight and three of four, outscored Jacksonville 40-11 in the paint. The Jackets, who last played Dec. 10 in an 82-72 victory over Tennessee State, have won 36 of their last 45 games against teams outside the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The Dolphins committed 24 turnovers, leading to 32 points for Georgia Tech. Many of Jacksonville's miscues came against the Yellow Jackets' full-court press.

Jacksonville, coached by former Tech assistant Cliff Warren, lost its fifth straight. The Dolphins (1-7) were coming off a 101-58 loss Sunday at No. 5 Florida.

Antonio Cool scored 22 points to lead Jacksonville, which never drew any closer than 14 points after he hit a 3-pointer from the left side with 8:53 remaining.

Marcus Allen added 15 points for the Dolphins, who play Georgia Southern on Dec. 29 before facing Mercer in their third Atlantic Sun Conference game.

Jacksonville is 1-1 in the Atlantic Sun after beating North Florida and losing to Florida Atlantic in a three-day stretch earlier this month.

After Cool cut the lead to 71-54, Smith answered by scooping in a basket before Frederick's eight-footer in the lane put the Jackets up 75-57.

Tech visits Air Force Wednesday before hosting Bethune-Cookman Dec. 31 and Vanderbilt on Jan. 3. The Jackets, who beat Virginia in their ACC opener earlier this month, resume conference play when Boston College plays in Atlanta on Jan. 8.
