DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- When Drake needed a jump-start, Chris Bryant provided the spark.

Bryant came off the bench to score a season-high 18 points and ignited two key Bulldog runs as Drake defeated Southern Utah 73-60 Thursday.

The win gives the Bulldogs (7-4) their most non-conference victories since the 1989-90 team posted an 8-6 record.

Bryant was 7-for-12 from the field, including 4-for-8 from 3-point range as the Bulldogs finished non-conference play.

Lubor Olsovsky led Southern Utah with 12 points.

The Bulldogs finished the first half on a 12-5 run for a 32-25 halftime lead.

The Thunderbirds (1-10) stayed close until midway through the second half when the Bulldogs went on a 10-1 run with two baskets by Ajay Calvin and a 3-pointer by Bryant for a 54-40 with 11:56 left.

Alou Kieta had three blocks to tie Lewis Lloyd for third on Drake's career shot block list with 63.
