PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Pooh Jeter and Darren Cooper combined for 46 points to lead Portland to an 80-72 win over Oregon on Thursday.

The result gave the Pilots victories over Oregon, Oregon State and Portland State -- the first time they have swept their in-state rivals in 49 years.

Ben Sullivan added 12 points for the Pilots (5-7), who overcame a slow start to take a 42-35 halftime lead and never trailed again.

Aaron Brooks led the Ducks (6-5) with 13 points and Malik Hairston and Adam Zahn added 11 points each.

The Ducks led 16-8, but the Pilots dominated the rest of the first half, shooting 56 percent from the field and playing defense with much more intensity.

Jeter, who had a game-high 25 points, hit a 3-pointer to give the Pilots their biggest lead of the night, 58-46 with 11 minutes left.

Oregon's Chamberlain Oguchi then hit a pair of 3-pointers as part of an 8-0 run that trimmed the lead to 58-54.

The Pilots, however, thwarted the rally with five straight points, highlighted by a three-point play from Cooper.

The Ducks never got closer than four points the rest of the way, the last time when Oguchi hit his third 3-pointer of the night with 21 seconds left.

Portland hit 7-of-8 free throws in the last 30 seconds to seal the win. For the game, the Pilots hit 28-of-39 from the line. Cooper made 15-of-16.

The Pilots enjoyed a 26-10 edge in points off turnovers, and held the Ducks to 43 percent shooting. ^
