AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) -- Antoine Hood scored 16 of his game-high 17 points in the second half to lead Air Force to its eighth straight win, a 73-50 victory snapping Lamar's five-game winning streak, on Friday.

Hood was 7-for-13 in the final period as the Falcons (10-1) blew open their seven-point halftime lead. Dan Nwaelele added 14 points for Air Force, which had a season-high 40 rebounds and held Lamar more than 30 points beneath its 85-point average.

Alan Daniels, who averages 24 points a game, led Lamar (6-5) with 15 points. Blake Wittle added 11.

Two 3-pointers from Nwaelele helped put Air Force up 60-35 with 7:15 left. The Cardinals, who shot 36 percent in the second half, trailed by at least 22 points the rest of the way.

Air Force used an 11-0 run and sloppy play by Lamar to take a 31-24 halftime lead after the Cardinals went scoreless for nearly seven minutes in the first period.

Lamar had five unforced turnovers and missed seven shots during that span.
