BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) -- Elijah Swan and Alvis Dowiels led a
strong second-half surge as the Rocky Mountain College men's
basketball team downed the University of Great Falls 60-56 on
Swan scored 10 of his 19 points after intermission, and Alvis
Dowiels added eight of his 12 points in the second half.
The Bears (11-7) were down 32-27 at halftime and took the lead
for the first time since the 14:04 mark of the first half at 40-37
on a 3-pointer by Swan with 14:55 to play.
That 3-pointer was part of a 9-0 run that put Rocky ahead 44-37
with 12:42 left.
Rocky built a 55-46 lead with 5:13 to go, but UGF's Keon Polee
scored six of his 14 points in the final 4:08 to keep the Argos
(11-7) in the game.
His two free throws with 25.6 seconds left had UGF within 58-56.
But Curtis Dunwoody sunk a pair of free throws with 16.3 seconds to
play, giving the Bears their final lead.
Chris Nickolei chipped in with 12 points and eight rebounds for
the Bears. UGF's Tyrone Witherspoon had 18 points and 12 rebounds.
