Pennsylvania 58, Hawaii 55

HONOLULU (AP) -- Ibrahim Jaaber scored 24 points to lead Penn to
a 58-55 victory over Hawaii Thursday night in the first-ever
meeting between the two teams.

Mark Zoller added 13 points and Eric Odmundson 11 for the
Quakers (4-4).

Deonte Tatum led Hawaii with a career-high 17 points. Matt
Lojeski added 13 points and Matthew Gipson 12 for the Rainbow
Warriors (6-4).

Down 57-55 with 13 seconds to play, Hawaii's Lojeski stole the
ball on the Penn inbound play, but his pass went through the hands
of Ahmet Gueye and to Quaker Steve Danley.

Hawaii would get one more chance after Danley made one of two
free throws, but Julian Sensley's 3-point attempt at the buzzer
bounced off the rim.

After Hawaii scored the first two points of the game, Penn took
a 3-2 lead at the 18:25 mark in the first half and would lead by as
much as nine in the game.

Hawaii pulled to within one point five times in the game, but
the Quakers would not relinquish the lead. Penn, playing in its
first game in 16 days, led at halftime 28-27.
