BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- Boris Siakam scored 15 points to lead
Western Kentucky to an 87-71 victory over Division II Kentucky
State Thursday night.
Courtney Lee added 14 points and Anthony Winchester 10 for the
Hilltoppers (7-4). Kyle Allen scored 15 points to lead the
Thorobreds (1-3), while Kenny Jones added 13 and 5-foot-5 guard
Deshondre Watters came off the bench to score 11.Western Kentucky trailed briefly, 15-14, with 13:18 to play in
the first half, but from that point, the Hilltoppers outscored
Kentucky State 34-14 for the remainder of the first half.Western Kentucky made four consecutive 3-point baskets over the
final 3:10 of the half to break the game open. The Hilltoppers made
8 of 13 3-point attempts in the first half. The Hilltoppers biggest
lead was 25 points with 10:15 to play in the game.Western Kentucky also held a decisive 50-36 advantage in
rebounds.
