SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) -- Dan Oppland scored 22 points and
Valparaiso took control in the second half as the Crusaders
defeated Centenary 89-74 Thursday night.
Seth Colclasure added 17 points for Valparaiso (6-4) and Ron
Howard had 12. Oppland also pulled down nine rebounds.
Larry Logan led the Gents (2-8) with 22 points and Alexander
Starr added 19.
Valparaiso led 41-35 going into the half, then came out to score
eight of the first 12 points of the second, building a 49-39 lead
and forcing five Centenary turnovers in the first four minutes.
Four minutes later the lead was up to 21, and Valparaiso would
lead by as much as 24 before cruising to the finish.
