BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- J. Robert Merritt scored a career-high
33 points on 12-of-13 shooting Thursday night, leading Samford to a
91-56 rout of Cambellsville.
The victory broke Campbellsville's 10-game winning streak,
handing the Tigers their first loss of the season.Merritt was 7-of-8 on 3-pointers for Samford (6-4). Randall
Gulina added 13 points, while Travis Peterson and Ryan Woolsey each
scored 9 points. Woolsey also had a game-high six rebounds.Zach Ingles led the Tigers (10-1) with 21 points. James Steward
added 19 points and Zach Allender had 11.Samford held the Tigers to 45.5 percent shooting, while hitting
70.2 percent of its shots.The Bulldogs, who had a 55-29 halftime advantage, also dominated
the boards, outrebounding Campbellsville 28-17.
