Montana State 75, San Jose State 71

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) -- Al Beye scored 10 points in the second
half, including all six of his free throw attempts, to lead Montana
State to a 75-71 come-from-behind win Friday night over San Jose
State in the consolation championship of the Holiday
Stores-GranTree Inn Classic.

Beye, who finished with 13 points on three-of-four shooting from
the field, put MSU (6-7) up 72-67 with a put-back with 1:11 left.

Alex Elam's layup cut the lead to 72-69, but a free throw by
Ja'Ron Jefferson gave MSU a 73-69 lead with 25.6 seconds left.

Julian Richardson hit a layup with 15.8 seconds remaining to
pull the Spartans (4-9) to 73-71.

Casey Durham hit one of two free throws to give the Bobcats a
74-71 lead, and after Carlton Spencer missed a three-point try,
Derek Edmonds was fouled and hit one of two free throws to set the
final score.

Trailing 46-41 following a three-pointer by Nick Dissly, the
Spartans went on a 16-3 run, and led 57-49 on Spencer's short
jumper at the 10:01 mark.

MSU used a 9-2 run to tie the game at 63 on a Durham free throw
with 4:46 left. A three-pointer by Edmonds gave MSU a 70-65 lead
with 2:14 remaining.

Marvin Moss led MSU with 16 points. Jefferson had 12 for the
Bobcats.

Elam led the Spartans with 12 points. Demetrius Brown and
Spencer each scored 11, and Richardson had 10.
