OREM, Utah (AP) -- A.Z. Reid had 22 points and 13 rebounds to
lead visiting High Point to an 82-69 come-from-behind victory
Friday night over Utah Valley State.
The Wolverines (6-8) led 37-25 at halftime, but High Point (7-3)
shot 69.7 percent from the field in the second half.
Coming out of intermission, Reid scored five quick points on a
layup and a 3-pointer.
When Reid put back his own miss four minutes into the second
half, High Point had cut the UVSC lead to 41-40.
High Point guard Mike Jefferson scored seven straight points to
punctuate an 18-4 run and put the Panthers up 47-41.
The rest of the way, the Wolverines appeared to be in a state of
shock as Reid, Jefferson and their teammates pushed the ball up the
floor for quick, easy shots.
Utah Valley built its halftime lead with an 11-0 run midway
through the first half that was highlighted by a sky hook from
6-foot-10 center Ben Devoe.
Jefferson finished with 21 points coming off the bench. Twenty
of Reid's points and 16 of Jefferson's came in the second half.
Senior guard Sylvester Allison scored 22 points to lead four
Wolverines in double figures.
