Akron 72, Wright St 44

AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Rob Preston scored eight of his 12 points
during a 17-1 run to close the first half and Akron went on to beat
Wright State 72-44 on Saturday.

Preston hit two 3-pointers and made two foul shots to help the
Zips' take a 40-20 halftime lead.

Preston and four other players came off the bench for Akron
(6-3) to score 38 points to 15 for Wright State's bench players.

Half of Akron's first-half points came off 16 Wright State

Romeo Travis led Akron with 13 points and six rebounds. Cedrick
Middleton scored 11 points and Darryl Peterson added 10 for Akron.

Drew Burleson scored 10 points and was the only player in double
figures for Wright State, which shot 34 percent for the game to 49
percent for Akron. Jordan Pleiman had eight rebounds for the
Raiders (4-6).

Akron jumped to a 23-11 lead to start the game, but Burleson
scored five points in an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 23-19.
