Illini beat down Louisville in second half

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Taquan Dean scored 28 points to lead Louisville to a 70-63 win over Bellarmine in an exhibition game Wednesday night.

Matt Miller had 18 points and Montonio Blake 15 for Bellarmine.

Division II Bellarmine stayed close for most of the game and led 44-43 with 10:24 left in the game. The Cardinals took the lead for good on a three-point play by Brian Johnson with 8:48 to go. There were 13 ties and lead changes in the first half.

Freshmen Terrence Williams and Andre McGee started for the Cardinals.

Coming off the bench, Dean grabbed a defensive rebound and hit a 3-pointer in his first 30 seconds on the court.

Dean had 12 points in the first half, the only Louisville player with more than four.

Miller led the Knights with nine at the half, followed by Blake's eight.
