TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Tony Tate scored 26 points, including
nine points in a critical stretch of the second half, to lead
Florida A&M to a 76-64 win over Norfolk State on Wednesday night.
Florida A&M (5-8, 1-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) took a
61-60 lead on a Glen Elliott layup with 6:59 left in the game after
trailing by as much as four earlier in the second half.
After two free throws by Joe Ballard made it 63-60, Tate scored
nine points in a 13-4 run over the final 5:22 to secure the win for
Rome Sanders added 16 and six rebounds points for Florida A&M,
which shot 58.1 percent from the field in the game.
