MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) -- Two-time NCAA rebounding champion Paul Millsap collected 21 points, 15 rebounds, four blocked shots and a pair of steals Saturday to lead Louisiana Tech to a 66-61 Western Athletic Conference victory over Idaho.

Marcus Elliott added 16 points for the Bulldogs, who have won five of their last seven games to stand 9-6 overall and 2-0 in WAC play. Idaho, which lost its third straight, drops to 3-9 and 0-2.

Eleven of Millsap's rebounds were on offense and he turned several into easy points, going 9-for-12 from the field. He had nine points and seven rebounds -- five offensive -- in the first half, helping Louisiana Tech take a 32-24 lead into intermission.

The Vandals closed the gap to four points with a 6-2 spurt to open the second half. Idaho leading scorer Tanoris Shepard, held scoreless in the first half, poured in five straight points to cut the deficit to 39-37 at the 16:07 mark.

The Vandals tied the score at 45-all on an Igor Vrzina hook shot with 10:36 to play, and they took their first lead on a driving assist from Keoni Watson to Desmond Nwoke that put them ahead 49-47 with 8:12 to go.

The Bulldogs answered with a 3-pointer from Michael Wilds, and they never trailed again, though Idaho had a chance to tie when Watson's 3-pointer from the top of the arc fell short with 40 seconds remaining.

Louisiana Tech sealed the victory by hitting 7 of 8 free throws over the final 36 seconds.

Shepard led the Vandals with 11 points on 5-for-13 shooting after posting 25 points in a 62-52 loss to New Mexico State on Thursday. Idaho also received 10 points, 10 rebounds and six assists from Watson, and Mike Kale and David Dubois chipped in 10 points apiece.
