NEWARK, Del. (AP) -- Gary Neal scored 27 points to lead Towson to
a 96-92 win against Delaware on Saturday.
Neal, who scored 70 points in his previous two games, went
11-of-12 in free throws for the Tigers (8-7, 4-2 Colonial Athletic
Delaware's Harding Nana scored a career-high 38 points and
grabbed 12 rebounds for the Blue Hens (4-11, 0-6).
Towson also received big help from Dennard Abraham, who scored
21 points and brought down eight rebounds. Lawrence Hamm hit his
first seven shots from the field and finished with 19 points, and
Tim Crossin added nine assists as Towson won its third straight
Nana, who entered the game averaging 18.8 points per game to
rank second in the CAA, scored a BCC-record 28 points in the first
half on the way to his 38 points, the ninth highest total in school
history and most since Mike Pegues scored 38 against Hartford on
Jan. 6, 1999.
Nana, who hit on 13 of 24 shots from the field and 9 of 14 from
the line, also had 12 rebounds to post his ninth double-double of
Rulon Washington was the only other Blue Hen to reach double
figures as he came off the bench to score 12 points.
