STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) -- Christian Maraker scored 17 points to
lead Pacific to a 67-56 victory over UC Davis on Saturday.
Mike Webb scored 16 points, Johnny Gray scored 11 and Anthony
Brown had 13 points and a career-high 12 rebounds to lead the
Tigers (12-6) in the non-conference game.
Rommel Marentez scored a game-high 24 points for Davis (5-13),
which also got 12 points from Jesse Lopez Low.
Pacific used a 12-0 run midway through the second half to pull
away and build its biggest lead at 55-36 with 7:55 remaining to
The Aggies, who lost to Pacific 84-51 in Davis on Dec. 29,
pulled within 57-47 with 4:50 remaining. But Gray scored the next
six points, and Davis never cut Pacific's lead below double digits
the rest of the way.
Davis rallied from a six-point deficit to take its only lead at
19-18 with 5:50 remaining in the first half. But Pacific responded
with 9-0 run and had a 29-21 advantage at the break.
Davis' Phil Rasmussen scored inside to begin the second half,
but that's as close as the Aggies got as Pacific followed that
basket with a 14-4 run to take command.
