Bates added a career-high 20 to lead Army to an 80-73 victory over
Navy on Sunday.

The win snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Black Knights
(5-12, 1-4 Patriot League). It was Army's second win in Annapolis
in 3 years, following 14 straight road losses to Navy.
The Midshipmen (7-10, 0-4) led in most statistical categories,
but the Black Knights shot 65 percent in the second half and 57.8
percent for the game. They went 10-for-19 from 3-point range.
Cory Brown added 15 points, and Cory Sinning scored 10 for the
Navy's guards were cold, as Sprink, Kina and Corey Johnson
combined to go 9-for-13 from the field. The Midshipmen shot 42
percent and made 4 of 18 3-point attempts.
Army made 10 of its 14 shots and led 33-23 with four minutes
left in the first half, but Navy used a 9-0 run to get close again
and trailed 36-35 at halftime.
The Midshipmen took their first lead of the game early in the
second half, which featured four ties and 10 lead changes before
Bates' 3-pointer with 9:49 remaining gave Army the lead for good.
Navy pulled within 76-73 on a basket by Kina with 27 seconds
remaining, and the Midshipmen got the ball back when they tied up
the inbounds pass, but Fannin missed from the lane.
Jackson was fouled after the rebound and made both free throws,
then added an open layup with 5 seconds left.
