HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) -- Nathan Mann's jumper with 3 seconds
left lifted William & Mary over James Madison 72-70 Saturday night.
James Madison (5-18, 2-13 Colonial Athletic Association) took a
34-31 halftime lead and held onto it for about the first 5 minutes
of the second half. After three ties the Dukes regained the lead
off back-to-back 3-pointers by Daniel Freeman and Ray Barbosa that
gave James Madison a 52-46 lead with 12:08 remaining. The Dukes
went ahead by 11, but William & Mary caught up, tying it at 68 with
1:19 to go.
Freeman's jumper put the Dukes up again, but Taylor Mokira tied
it with a jumper of his own with 37 seconds left. Three timeouts
later, Mann hit his jumper for the win.
William & Mary (8-15, 3-11) led by as many as six in the first
half before James Madison took the lead, 19-18, off Kyle Swanston's
jumper. After several lead changes, Freeman's two free throws and
Colbey Santos' 3-pointer put the Dukes up by five. Calvin Baker
sank two free throws with 4 seconds left in the half.
