DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Kyle Anslinger scored a career high 29
points, including 9-of-10 from 3-point range, and Evansville beat
Drake 69-68 Saturday to snap a 21-game road losing streak.
Anslinger, who closed out the game by making five straight
threes, hit the most 3-pointers in a Missouri Valley Conference
game since Creighton's Kyle Korver had nine against Evansville on
Jan. 13, 2003.
Evansville (7-16, 3-12 MVC) blew an 11-point lead, but
Anslinger's final 3-pointer, along with a 3-point play by Matt
Webster in the final minute, preserved the win.
Drake's last four home losses have been by a total of nine
points. Chris Bryant, who led the Bulldogs (12-14, 5-10) with 15
points, missed a 35-footer at the buzzer.
Down 11 with 7:22 left, Drake went on a 12-2 run and got as
close as 60-59. Chaun Brooks added 11 for the Bulldogs.
