Kent State 67, Northern Illinois 55

KENT, Ohio (AP) -- DeAndre Haynes scored 24 points to lead Kent
State to a 67-55 win over Northern Illinois on Sunday.

Mike Scott's dunk with 5:30 remaining capped a 12-4 run for Kent
(17-7, 11-2 Mid-American Conference) and gave the Golden Flashes a
56-41 lead.

Scott finished with 13 points, and Armon Gates added 11 for
Kent, which rebounded from Tuesday's 60-44 loss at Toledo.

Cory Sims led Northern Illinois (13-9, 8-6) with 14 points. Zach
Pancratz had 13.

The Huskies, which have lost two in a row, shot just 46.4
percent from the field (20-of-48). Northern Illinois had shot 50
percent or better in 10 of its 13 victories this season and came in
to Sunday's game having totaled a MAC-best field-goal percentage of
48.5 percent.
