    FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) -- Ajay Calvin scored 17 points and Drake defeated Southeast Missouri State 78-51 Friday in the opening round of the BP Top of the World Classic.

    The Bulldogs (1-0) bolted to a 10-0 lead and never trailed. Southeast Missouri (0-2) failed to score for the first four and a half minutes and fell behind 41-27 at the half.

    Drake shot 50 percent from the field and took its biggest lead, 78-48, with under a minute remaining.

    The Redhawks shot just 31 percent from the field, including 6-for-25 on 3-point attempts.

    Chris Bryant scored 15 points for Drake and Nick Grant added 11.

    The Bulldogs outrebounded the Redhawks 43-34 with Aliou Keita pulling down seven. Calvin added five.

    Michael Rembert led Southeast Missouri with nine points. Brandon Foust had eight rebounds.

    Drake faces Utah State on Saturday in the semifinals and Southeast Missouri faces Centenary in the consolation bracket.
