FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) -- Dre Smith scored a career-high 20 points, including three 3-pointers, and George Mason secured its first home win of the season with a 65-39 victory over Florida International on Monday night.

Four players scored at least seven points for George Mason (3-2) and Darryl Monroe had a career high eight rebounds.

Chris Fuller scored 13 points to lead the Golden Panthers (3-4), who shot just 31 percent from the floor, including 28 percent in the first half.

George Mason used an early second half run to stretch its lead to 45-23 and the Patriots led by more than 20 points for most of the second half as FIU struggled to find an offensive rhythm against a swarming defense.
