KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) -- Shaun Stegall's 27 points and 13 rebounds led Kennesaw State to a 68-55 victory over Newberry Tuesday night to give coach Tony Ingle his 200th career win.
Ronell Wooten added 14 points for the Owls (2-4), who started off with a 3-pointer by Stegall and went up 7-0 before Newberry (1-4) went on a 10-0 run, holding Kennesaw scoreless for five minutes. The two swapped the lead a couple of times and the Owls were never ahead more than three points before taking a 32-30 halftime lead.
Wooten hit a 3-pointer nine seconds into the second half to make it 35-30. Newberry (1-4) got within 44-42 on a layup by
Alonzo Hinds with 11:16 to play, but the Owls pulled away after that.
Clemente Martin and Cory Etheridge each scored 16 points for the Indians, and Hinds added 9.
