WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Gary Neal scored 26 points and Towson held off William and Mary's second-half surge to win 73-60 Tuesday night.

Neal scored 15 of his points in the first-half when the Tigers (5-3, 1-0 Colonial Athletic Association) closed with an 18-4 run to open a 42-25 lead at the break.

William and Mary's Nathan Mann made the game's first basket with a jumper, but Neal came back with a 3-pointer, and Towson didn't trail for the rest of the game.

The Tribe (3-4, 0-1) outscored Towson 15-4 over about five minutes and pulled as close as six, the last 53-47 with 10:47 left, but they got no closer.
