Akron 90, Binghamton 55

VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) -- Jeremiah Wood had 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead Akron in a 90-55 win over Binghamton Wednesday.

Akron (5-1) took a fast lead with two offensive rebounds on their first possession before Nate Linhart hit a three pointer.

Romeo Travis followed up to steal Binghamton's inbounds pass and Wood scored to start a 13-1 Akron run in the first five minutes of play.

Binghamton (3-4) got no closer than nine points after the initial run.

Nick Dials had 14 points and Dru Joyce III contributed 10 for Akron.

Steve Proctor had 10 points for Binghamton, but was just 5-for-11 from the field.

Akron outrebounded Binghamton 46-26.
