RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) -- Derek Wright connected on a 3-pointer with less than five seconds left to send Austin Peay to a 59-57 win over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.
Wright finished with 14 points on 4-of-4 shooting from the floor and hit all three of his shots from behind the arc. Wright made a clutch steal and sank two free throws in the final four seconds to seal the win for the Governors (3-4).
Eastern (6-3) led 57-51 with 1:50 remaining, but Austin Peay scored seven in a row for the final margin. The Colonels failed to connect on a field goal in the final six minutes.
Adam Leonard, Julian Mascoll and Mike Rose each scored 11 for the Colonels. Leonard connected on three of his team's five shots from long range, with all of those coming consecutively in the second half.
Austin Peay shot 52 percent in the second half compared with Eastern' 33 percent.
Overall, Eastern connected on just five shots on 25 attempts from behind the arc.
