WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) -- Jaret Von Rosenberg hit four free throws in the final seconds to give Hartford a 76-75 win over Monmouth on Saturday night.
Bo Taylor had 21 points to lead Hartford (4-4), while Michael Turner added 18 points and eight rebounds. Dejan Delic made 7-of-10 from 3-point range and scored a game-high 24 points for Monmouth (3-8), while Whitney Coleman finished with 19 points and Jhamar Youngblood added 12.
The teams traded baskets for most of the game, which featured 11 lead changes, but Hartford took the lead for good when Taylor made a conventional three-point play with 53.5 seconds left to give Hartford a 70-67 lead.
Delic's tip-in with 40.5 seconds left narrowed the lead to 70-69, but Hartford then hit six free throws down the stretch, the last two by Von Rosenberg with 2.2 seconds left. Delic then hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer for the game's final points.
Monmouth won the battle of the boards, outrebounding Hartford 27-22, but hurt itself by missing some key shots and free throws in the game's closing minutes.
