SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Brandon Johnson tied his career high with 24 points as San Diego won its sixth straight game with an 81-70 victory over Furman on Saturday.

Gyno Pomare added 17 points off the bench for San Diego (8-4) and Ross DeRogatis had 12. The Toreros had just one field goal in the final 6:20, but maintained their lead by going 16-for-21 from the foul line down the stretch.

Furman (5-5) was paced by Moussa Diagne's 16 points and 15 from Gerad Punch.

The Toreros, who trailed 35-33 at halftime, used an 18-5 run over the first six minutes of the second half to take a 51-40 lead. Johnson and Chris Lewis each scored seven points in the run. The Paladins never got closer than seven points the rest of the game.
