FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP) -- DaShaun Wood had 25 points and hit a winning free throw shot to lead Wright State over Chicago State 63-62 Thursday night.
The Raiders were down 62-61 when Wood was fouled by
Royce Parran and sunk both shots. He also had six rebounds and four assists.
Vaughn Duggins added 15 points and six rebounds for Wright State (5-5), and
Jordan Pleiman had 11 points and seven rebounds.
The teams traded the lead throughout the first half, but Wright State pulled ahead to make it 36-31 at halftime. The Raiders led by nine with less than six minutes to go, but Chicago State mounted a 12-2 run before the final foul on Wood.
Aaron Williams had 15 points and nine rebounds for Chicago State (5-10), and
Kourtney Calvin added 12 points and five rebounds. Parran and
John Cantrell had 11 point apiece for Chicago State, which went 23-of-61 for about 38 percent shooting.
Wright State went 22-of-51 for about 43 percent shooting. Both teams shot better than 80 percent from the free throw line.
