Lafayette 58, Mount St. Mary's 56

EASTON, Pa. (AP) -- Bilal Abdullah scored a career-high 22 points and Lafayette held off Mount St. Mary's for a 58-56 victory Friday night.

Jesper Andersson added 11 points for Lafayette (6-7), which took control with an opening 14-2 run and won for the fifth time in six games.

Kelly Beidler scored 16 points and Chris Vann 11 for Mount St. Mary's (2-9).

Lafayette led 38-29 at halftime before Mount started its comeback. Beidler hit two free throws that pulled the Mountaineers within 58-56 with one minute left.

The Mountaineers squandered three possessions in the last 25 seconds and failed to convert their final chance to tie, with 0.9 seconds left.
