FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) -- Bobby Brown had 26 points, eight assists and a season-high four steals to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 104-77 rout of San Jose State on Saturday.
Marcus Crenshaw added 19 points, Ray Reed scored 15 points and Scott Cutley grabbed 11 rebounds for the Titans (9-2), who are off to their best start since 1983-84, when Fullerton began the season 13-2.
Menelik Barbary scored a career-high 24 points for the Spartans (1-10), who are in the midst of their worst start since losing 19 of their first 20 games in 1994-95. Devonte Thomas added a career-best 18 points.
San Jose State made 11 turnovers in the first 11:21 as Fullerton built a 31-10 lead with 8:35 left in the first half. Brown, Cutley and Reed each scored eight points in the surge.
The Titans shot 58 percent in the first half and converted 14 turnovers into 22 points. Fullerton led by as many as 32 points in the second half.
